Scroll to the bottom of the main page for this forum and make sure that it's set to show threads from the beginning. Then go to settings (top right by My Profile), click General Settings on the left side, and then scroll to the Thread Display Options section. There you can pick the order threads appear in, how many display, and how far back the display will go for you.

It seems like that should be a default setting. I don’t think many people are going to figure that out.

I've double checked all my forum settings and it should be defaulted to that, but for some reason it isn't working for others.
